Synopsys Outreach Foundation

Science Project Package Application

For public schools and private non-profit schools with 501(c)(3) public charity status in California

Please submit an application for materials for yourself only. Do not submit an application on behalf of a colleague(s). We require every teacher utilizing science project materials from the foundation to fill out a separate application and agree to the terms of the contribution.

Who Qualifies to Apply for a Science Project Package?

The Synopsys Outreach Foundation only accepts applications for Science Project Packages from PUBLIC schools, CHARTER schools and PRIVATE NON-PROFIT schools with Section 501(c)(3) public charity status. Private for-profit schools without 501(c)(3) status are not eligible for a Science Project Package.

Note: teachers at private non-profit schools with 501(c)(3) public charity status must provide a copy of their school's 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter no later than 5:00 pm on September 15.

Note: Teachers at Charter Schools must provide ONE of the following no later than 5:00 pm on September 15:
 • A document showing your charter school's status as a 501(c)(3) public charity.
 • A letter from a school district, on district letterhead, stating that your charter school is part of the school district or is a public school within that school district, and confirming the school district's exempt status.
 • The name, contact information and proof of 501(c)(3) public charity status of another charity that will accept the contribution for your purposes. For example, Elm Street Charter School (which has Section 501(c)(3) public charity status) accepts the contribution for the purposes of Elm Street Charter School II (which does not have its own tax-exempt status). In this case, the contribution will be to the other charity, who will have the discretion to re-grant to your charter school.
